Bonus Trip Throught the Desert

Last week, the students that worked throughout the last semester towards collecting ‘bonuses’ by attending extra classes were privileged to be given an amazing jeep ride through the Midbar Yehudah with Rabbi David ‘Harpo’ Abramson.
After Shachris and breakfast, the students began their trip at the local supermarket where Rabbi Harpo picked out the best of meats, including lamb, steaks and spicey hot dogs for the BBQ in the desert. Then, they headed towards Tekoa where the jeeping adventure began!
After leaving Tekoa, we began driving through the desert for a little while until the paved road ended. Throughout our ride we passed through Bedouin villages as well as fields with their camels while climbing the deserts mountains and crossing it’s ditches.  After two hours of driving around and we decided to take a break on the top of a mountain with an amazing lookout onto the Dead Sea and the Jordanian mountains. We set up our barbeque, and Harpo grilled us the best BBQ we’ve ever had! We sat, and chilled out on the desert mountains for a while before we finally headed out of the desert and back to Yeshiva.
